Cane Creek 40-Series Traditional Bottom for 49mm Head Tube

Cane Creek 40 series Bottom Assemblies are designed to replace the Cane Creek XX-44 headset. These bottom assemblies consist of a bottom cup, a sealed oxide bearing, and a crown race. The EC44/40 Conversion Bottom fits a 1-1/8" 44mm standard head tube bottom (with a 44mm inner diameter).

The consistent stack heights across the 10, 40, and 110 Series make these bottom assemblies universally compatible. They are intended for use with a 1.5" threadless steerer tube bottom, with a 40mm crown race seat diameter and a tapered steerer tube.

The internal parts of the 10, 40, and 110 Series are cross-compatible, allowing for greater flexibility and interchangeability. The EC44/40 Conversion Bottom also enables the use of 44mm head-tube bottoms with 1.5" 40mm crown race forks.

The Cane Creek 40 series Bottom Assemblies feature a durable steel crown race with low-friction face-seals. The External Cup (EC) 44mm Bottom Assembly allows for the use of tapered steerer tubes, as the bearings are located outside the frame.

These EC assemblies incorporate press-in cups with the bearings positioned externally, providing a secure and reliable installation. To complete a 44mm straight head-tube installation, the 40 series Bottom Assemblies can be combined with a 44mm 1-1/8" ZeroStack Top Assembly.

The internal components of the 40 series Bottom Assemblies are made from high-quality materials, including an internally relieved AL-6061 T-6 cup, a 1.5" black oxide steel bearing, and a 40-Series 1.5" crown race.
